The Yellow Monkey Village has been a landmark in Northern Westchester for more than 30 years, created by veteran antique dealer and eccentric Lee Hardesty. He began importing English country antiques, and courting local artisans and entrepreneurs to fill the more than 7000 square feet of renovated shops. Heidi Johnston purchased The Yellow Monkey more than 15 years ago bringing her own eclectic blend of European antiques and furnishing from around the world.
Heidi began her career as a fabric designer for Scalamandre, and evolved out of fabrics and into home furnishings, creating and managing several retail home stores and developing her own custom furniture line. She later joined the internet boom as one of three principle designers who were among the first to offer high-end, custom furnishings through the internet. Heidi, along with her family, moved to Cross River and combined all her industry experiences in one resource to bring you the best in antiques and home furnishings.
“I hand pick everything that goes into my store, from large antiques to smaller decorative accessories, ensuring that the quality and style are the best they can be. I consider our customers to be part of the neighborhood and as such, I feel an overwhelming obligation to stand behind the quality of all the products and services The Yellow Monkey offers.”
